I Saw the TV Glow: it's glowing somewhere else

so this is a movie that had been hyped up significantly for me by all those transgender tumblrines, which perhaps colored my viewing. there was clearly a lot of symbolism and such (i must disclaim i am writing this some weeks after watching the movie), although i'm not sure it was really a horror movie? i personally was not scared.

& yet for me, i don't think it really landed. i did not find it particularly emotional, & in fact i felt more like there was a lot it wasn't saying. perhaps a second viewing, after i've worked through more of my watchlist, will let me get more out of it?
